Daniel Craig to Open the Olympics

Posted June 4th, 2012

Olympic Park

Director Danny Boyle, best known for his films Trainspotting and Slumdog Millionaire, will be creating a short film to open the Olympic ceremonies on July 27th. Titled The Arrival, the short will feature Daniel Craig as Bond as he visits Buckingham Palace for a mission brief. Rumored to include a cameo by the Queen, it will be revealed that 007's latest mission is to open the Olympic games.

As the film is playing, three choppers (one housing Craig) will be flown down the Thames to the Olympic Park, ducking under London Bridge on the way. Then, Craig will climb down a rope ladder and land in the stadium in true Bond style, with the James Bond theme tune playing.

The BBC producers are determined to make an impression on the 1 billion people that will be watching the ceremony, upstaging the disappointing ceremony of the last Olympics. The world will be watching and they are happy to go to any length to make sure the stunts are as thrilling as possible.
